Developing well-rounded, lifetime Christian disciples is not just something we say at Trinity Lutheran; it is something we do! Furthermore, it is not just something we do for the here and now. Our eyes are always on the future. Our students are equipped in academics, arts, athletics, and FAITH to be leaders in their communities, future schools, careers, and families. Our alumni demonstrate that this is the case, as they use their talents and gifts to glorify God. Here are a few of their stories.
Seven Trinity alumni were named 2017-2018 Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. These students are: Kirsten Nafziger, Blake Harvey, Kelly Lage, Connor Smith, Matthew Messman, Ellie Paul, and Ally Shepherd. Congratulations!
Many of our band students go on to play and march in band in high school and college. Here are where many of them can be found playing and marching this year:
Melissa Pish, a 2014 graduate of Trinity Lutheran School, participated at the U.S. Olympic Time Trials in 2016, and has aspirations of becoming an Olympic swimmer. As a high school junior, Melissa has made a verbal commitment to attend and swim for Duke University in 2018!
Katie Bahn, a 2010 graduate of Trinity Lutheran School, is now a nursing major at Valparaiso University. Her passion for nursing and her love for Jesus collide as she serves on medical mission trips on a regular basis. One of her loves is sharing faith and hope with children in Haiti.
