Multi-Age - Preschool/PreK

Children need to be at least 3 or 4 years old by September 1, 2018.
This program is based on the philosophy that an age range of greater than one year in a classroom provides opportunities for the younger children to learn from older children, as well as enabling the older children to grow in their self-confidence and leadership skills. The curriculum approach in a multi-age classroom is achieved through differentiated instruction. Meaning, curriculum expectations for 3 year old learners focus on social/emotional development with exposure to pre-academic skills. For the four year old learner the expectations grow and are focused on the mastery of academic skills while continuing to foster social/emotional development. The goal for any four year old child is to ensure Kindergarten readiness.

Half Day and Full Day Kindergarten

Full Day Hours:  8:15 - 3:15 p.m.
Half Day Hours: 8:15 - 12 pm

Children need to be five years old by September 1, 2018.
Our kindergarten programs take place in the same classroom. The children enrolled in ½ day kindergarten will leave at Noon when the full day children go to lunch. All academic subjects will take place in the morning; no new concepts will be introduced in the afternoon. However, those children who stay all day will have a chance to review and reinforce concepts after lunch; they will also enjoy recess and “rest and read” time. Field trips and special parties will also take place in the morning.

Enrichment Class

Enrollment: 12 to 1
Hours: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  (Days vary, depending on enrollment choices)

There will be four stand-alone classes offered Monday through Thursday for children who are at least 4 years old by September 1, 2018.   Enrichment classes are specialized classes offered independently from any of our other programs.  Children need not be enrolled in a Trinity Lutheran School early childhood class to participate.  Classes offered will be as follows: Spanish, Music, Art and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Jesus Time and snack time will be a part of each session. Classes will be offered in 8 or 9 week segments; you may sign your child up for one, two, three or four days a week. These are enrichment classes and are not Kindergarten preparatory, they are meant to be taken in addition to a traditional prekindergarten class. They would also be appropriate for a child in our half-day kindergarten program.
